Come Join Us at East Arlington’s Capitol Square & Along Mass Ave For a Holiday Walkabout to Celebrate First Lights Saturday December 7, 2019 Starting at Noon

Along Massachusetts Avenue from the eastern edge of town through Capitol Square and beyond—East Arlington’s vibrant business district—come celebrate the holiday season on Saturday, December 7, beginning at 12 noon, with live music, refreshments, special sales and free holiday activities for all. The festivities continue into the evening culminating in seasonal specials at your favorite eateries and shops.

Take a stroll to wish a merry happy holiday season to your favorite businesses and neighborhood merchants. Ask about gift certificates or creating a special wish list so your loved ones can shop stress-free knowing exactly what you would like. For children and adults with a sweet tooth, there will be free candy canes offered at most businesses.

The Calvary Brass Band will play holiday favorites outside of Town Tavern (201 Mass Ave) between 2:30 and 3:30 pm where hot cider will be served to passersby through the restaurant windows. At 4:00 pm the band will move to Calvary Church (300 Mass Ave) for a special event of cookie decorating, ornament coloring, popcorn, games and more music.

For the shoppers at heart don’t miss these specials: Muse’s Window (191 Mass Ave) is offering 15% off any one item of your choice. 13FOREST Gallery (167A Mass Ave) kicks off their annual Holiday Sale with up to 20% off throughout December. Refreshments will be served during the day and into the evening as the gallery will have extended hours, closing at 8 pm. Maxima Gift Center (212 Mass Ave) is offering not only treats but will hold their annual First Lights Sale with 20% off throughout the store from 12-4 pm. TheObjectofStories (189 Mass Ave) will host a special participatory holiday installation and will be offering 25% off artworks and objects throughout the gallery. Arlington Vision Center (180 Mass Ave) will have extended hours and is hosting a drawing for a free pair of sunglasses. For creative makers of all ages there is free ornament-making at Artbeat Creativity Store & Studio (212A Mass Ave) and holiday craft construction and treats at the Little Fox Shop in the Fox Branch of the Arlington Public Library (175 Mass Ave). Clay Dreams (183 Mass Ave) is offering 20% off the purchase of a gift certificate for future use.
